What I Wish I Would Have Understood When I Started My Business
Do you wait until the end of the day to even think about your business?
Do you feel like you have too much to do that you can’t do anything well?
Are you trying to “sneak” your business into your busy day?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, this blog is for you.
I have been there. Today I’m going to share with you what I wish someone would have stopped to MAKE ME understand early on.
In the beginning….
Each day, I have a really long to do list. Don’t we all? Before I started my business, I had my ongoing tasks down to a science.
When I was searching for an opportunity, I was adamant that whatever I chose was not going to take my energy or my time away from my number one priority – my kids. Did you feel that way?
I was sure I was going to be able to live life the same way I was, except work here and there. I wasn’t willing to give anything up.
I did not have a stellar beginning. And I didn’t understand why.
In this video, I tell you what I wish someone would have made me understand – I mean REALLY understand. I believe this was a huge reason why I didn’t start off very strong.
Maybe you need to hear this message NOW – I mean, REALLY hear it. Watch now.
The bottom line is if you want to make your business work for you, there are some things you’re going to have to give up.
You may not be able to exercise every day anymore – you may need to exercise half the time.
You may need to have “work time” while your kids entertain themselves.
You may not be able to have the same social life you did before.
The truth is, if you want to be successful, you’ll have to put your business before other things and other tasks often.
You may not be able to have a super clean house.
Your family may run out of socks or underwear.
You may need to find some care for your kids so you can concentrate.
This was especially hard for me. This was a very hard lesson learned.
In the end…
I realized that if I was going to reach my goals – my rank goals, my income goals – I was going to have to change the way I did things.
What has happened when I did? My business started to grow. I was able to stop starting my business over again because it was always a top priority.
Now there isn’t a day go by that I don’t touch my business. I still “sneak” some work in through what I call my “nooks and crannies” tasks. But I also spend concentrated time almost every day of the week moving my business forward.
Better late than never
I share this with you, because you should have this epiphany sooner than later. It will change your business.
It will change you.
You can do this – you can reach your goals. Make it a priority and it can happen.
How can you put business first? You can schedule your work time into your day – and make it unnegotiable.
